Skin Care Program

Become a licensed esthetician in Florida after graduate from the esthetician course at Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School (FLMAIS), the new name of Florida Medical College. Our Skin Care Program provides training in aesthetic and skin care, teaching student the biological foundation of the skin and maintain the health of the skin by correct cleansing methods, massage, lymphatic drainage and the use of aesthetic machine and cleansing device.

Students at our Skin Care Program will also become skilled at several cosmetic treatments such as make-up application, color analysis, ear piercing, lash & brow tinting, and waxing. In addition, students will learn the composition and effect of cosmetics and the different aspects of the cosmeceutical field. Moreover, students will learn the process of applying light-weight eyelash extensions to make the eyelashes more natural extensions.

Course Description

About the Program

The Skin Care program of Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School is consisting of 192.5 hours of theory (academic study) and 67.5 hours of hands-on instruction and practice of applied skin care treatments.

This skin care program is approved by the Commission for Independent Education and the Florida Board of Cosmetology, and after students meet all course requirements, they can register their respective license as Facial Specialist in the State of Florida.

In as little as 2 months if you take full time course or between three(3) to four(4) months if you apply for partial time. You will need to enroll in this Program with a High School Diploma and with the age of more than 18 years old. Skin Care program is complying with current regulation for Facial Specialist program in Florida.

Where to work

Graduates from FLMAIS, also have opportunities to work in Medical spas and dermatology offices. The beauty and spa salon is the most common area where the Facial specialist works, but some of our graduates create their own business because we prepare them in business administration and in Florida regulations and law. The esthetician is a professional who can work anywhere aesthetic service is offered, even in medical clinics as part of the client's rehabilitation process.
