CEU for Electrologist
2026-2028

Getting a 17 CEU to renew Electrolysis License in Florida. In this workshop, you will learn you all the required skills needed when performing and operating a dynamic laser machine with a multi-wavelength and higher repetition rate for hair removal.

Next Seminars on July 2026

Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School offers continuing education opportunities for licensed electrologists seeking to maintain professional knowledge and fulfill applicable Florida license-renewal requirements. Our CEU courses are designed to support electrology professionals with relevant instruction in current practices, safety standards, client care, and topics related to the evolving field of permanent hair removal.

Florida electrologists are generally required to complete continuing education as part of the biennial license-renewal process. Requirements can vary for first-time renewal applicants and may depend on the type of credit needed, including general education, Medical Errors, Blood-Borne Diseases, and HIV/AIDS education where applicable. Before registering, licensees should verify their personal renewal status and outstanding credit requirements through CE Broker and the Florida Department of Health.

Our 17 General CEU course is intended for licensed electrologists who need general continuing-education credit. Contact our admissions or continuing-education team to confirm course availability, delivery format, schedule, CE Broker reporting information, and whether the course is appropriate for your individual renewal needs.

CEU for Electrologist

Who is it for?

The course is aimed at anyone who wants to renew the electrolysis license in May 2026 and has pending the required continuing education units (CEU).

This course will offer 17 General CEUs from the 20 CEUs required to renew the electrolysis license in 2026.

The electrologist licensed before June 2024 must have their 20 credits reported in CE Broker before applying for license renewal in 2026.

What is CEU ?

Electrologist must obtain 20 credits hours of continuous education (CEU) to renew their license. This credits is distributed in 17 General credits, 2 CEU in Medical error and 1 CEU in Blood Borne Pathogens. We are offering 17 General CEU.

Florida CEU requirements

Explain the general 20-hour renewal structure:

Florida electrologists generally need 20 hours of continuing education for license renewal. The standard requirement includes 17 general hours, 2 hours of Medical Errors education, and 1 hour of Blood-Borne Diseases education. Electrologists should review their individual status in CE Broker because first-time renewal requirements and exemptions can vary based on the date of initial licensure.

Live and home-study credits

This is important and should be prominent:

Florida limits the number of Anytime or Home Study CE credits that may be applied toward electrologist license renewal. A maximum of 10 home-study hours may be used per biennium, while the remaining required hours must be completed through Live instruction. Before registering, confirm the course format and make sure it fits your remaining CE requirements.

Electrologist Licensure Renewal First Time

This information can be found in the Continuing Education section on the Florida Electrolysis Council webpage.

“Electrologists renewing a license for the first time who are licensed in the “second half” of the current biennium (as of 6/1/2025 with an expiration date of 5/31/2026) are exempt from the 20-hour continuing education requirement with the exception of the two (2) hour medical errors course, one (1) hour blood-borne disease course and one (1) hour HIV/AIDS course.”

The latest laser Technologies

755 nanometers

Alexandrite vs Diode

755 nm usually known as Alexandrite in diode laser you can find this wavelength produced by a semiconductor. This wavelength offers the most powerful energy absorption of melanin, making it ideal for a wide range of hair types and hair color – but especially lighter and thinner hair on bright skin types. (Fitzpatrick I-III) Some skin type IV with a lightening tone can be treat safety with this wavelength.

800-810 nanometer

Diode semiconductor

A semiconductor produces a Diode laser as a single laser. The classic wavelength of a diode laser, the most used in hair removal, is 800-810 nm, giving a deeper penetration than 755nm. The wavelength has more moderate melanin absorption than 755nm, making it safe for darker skin types. In this seminar, you will learn the characteristics the laser diode produces in a semiconductor.

1064 nm

NdYag vs Diode

1064nm has been related to the laser device using NdYag 1064nm. The new laser diode has included this wavelength as part of the new dynamic laser machines 1064 nm. This wavelength has a good absorption in hemoglobin and is useful for skin rejuvenation. It is most suitable for dark skin types since melanin absorption is low, and the risk of interaction with melanin in the skin is minimized. (Fitzpatrick V-VI).

Electrologist Seminars 17 CEU

Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School will perform every three months a CEU Seminar offering 17 credits for electrolysis license renewal in 2026.

This seminar will be offered in both language English and Spanish on the same day at the School location in different rooms. Call for more information at 305-417-8316. Registration may be online or at the School.

The tuition fee course is $250.00, and participants can participate for one or two days. Enrollment is available at the School or online through the website.

The Latest Technology in LHR

As part of the seminar, participants will learn the difference and characteristics of dynamic and stationary lasers. Also, the mechanism of laser production in new devices for hair removal using a semiconductor medium that produces wavelengths of 755 nm, 810 nm, and 1064 nm.

For the participants present on the first day, 9 hours of credits will be applied. Those with two days of assistance will receive 17 credits. On the second day, there will be a practice with a laser dynamic; for more information, call 305-417-8316. Enrollment is available at the School or online through the website.

Who this course is for

This CEU course is intended for currently licensed electrologists who need general continuing-education hours. It may be appropriate for professionals seeking to update their knowledge in electrology-related topics, treatment safety, professional standards, client consultation, infection-control practices, or other approved areas of continuing education.

Practice makes perfect

We scheduled a hands-on for these three wavelengths applied in laser hair removal. The new laser hair removal technology in the market is based on diode semiconductors using LED technology to produce laser light. Our goal is that you understand a subject by practicing it in a real machine. This is why we’ve set up a group of laser equipment so you can know how this works.

Laser Hair Removal Dynamic Mode

In addition to our live seminars, we also offer an option to take part in a hands-on with a laser device. It takes place in our vast campus located in Miami, Florida. Here you’ll be able to use the most up-to-date devices in laser hair removal with dynamic equipments.

Learn from the very best

Join our course and get your 17 credit hours to renew your electrolysis license and receive an update in the latest technology using in laser hair removal today. We make sure every class is easily understood, and that all participants reach the same level of expertise needed for today’s aesthetic industry.
