EKG Certification Course
Become a EKG Technician at Florida Medical College and get a National Certification and you will be ready to aid doctors in the diagnostic of a cardiovascular disorder or heart problem.
This course will teach the student to identify the cardiovascular system, legal and ethical responsibilities of an EKG aide, maintain a safe environment, maintain the EKG equipment, three types of lead systems, proper lead placement, perform a 12 lead EKG, perform a rhythm strip, calculate the QRS complex and PR interval, trace and mount an EKG strip, recognize a cardiac emergency as seen on the EKG, verify the requisition order, prepare patient for EKG testing and use precautions required to perform an EKG.
Applicants for admission must possess a high school diploma or GED, and 18 years.Prospective students must complete a formal application to be accepted by the school. The applicant will complete and sign an Enrollment Agreement prior to beginning classes.This course accredited the participants with 4 credit hours in our Medical Assistant Associate Degree Program with a term of 60 clock hours.Tuition payment is due, in full, on or before the first day of class. Any student who is unable to pay the tuition and fees in full may arrange a payment plan to be paid weekly.Registration can be done by fax, phone, mail or online. Esthetician may take this course as part of the Medical Esthetician Certification course.
HIPAA/Blood Borne Pathogens is required to this course. Students who have successfully taken HWTWK01 Healthcare Worker Basics course within the past calendar year may waive the HIPAA/Blood Borne Pathogens course.
Refund policy states that student must withdraw enrollment prior to the start of class for a refund. No refunds are given after the start of class.
Class attendance is considered mandatory for all courses within this certificate program – 80% attendance is required for each course.
