Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements. Applicants are required to visit the school in person to meet with an admissions representative. The admissions representative will discuss career goals, programs, and provide a tour of the school for each applicant. 

The prospective student must complete an application for enrollment where registration fee and related fee of the program are included.

Prospective students must complete a formal application to be accepted by the school. The applicant will complete and sign an Enrollment Agreement prior to beginning classes. 

Applicants are encouraged to complete the enrollment process well in advance, as the capacities of the courses are limited.

College Programs & Diploma Courses Requirements

Admission requirements

  • Applicants for any of our courses or program must fill out the enrollment form to be approved by the Director of the School.
  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years old or older.
  • Applicants must have a High School Diploma or a General EducationEquivalent Diploma (GED).
  • All accepted students must complete an Enrollment Agreement and sign it.
  • Prospective students, who were denied admission and would like to view their file, may submit a written request. Access to view the file will be granted within 24 hours of request.
  • International students must present high school diploma  or equivalent from the foreign country  and should be translate by recognized agency.

All applicants should receive an orientation about the school’s admission requirements, rules and regulations. Student catalogs are available to all students.

No student currently attending high school will be accepted. No person shall be excluded from participating in Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School or be subject to discrimination because of race, color, sex, ethnic origin, religion, age, or disability.

Technology Requirements

As part of the admission requirements for the Distance Education Division process, students must demonstrate individual competencies in the use of technology.. In addition, students must have the following skills and equipment

  • Working and appropriately operating laptop and computer.
  • Ability to use email to correspond with faculty, staff, and students. 
  • Meet communication requirements for each course using the applicable learning platforms, Moodle and Zoom. 
  • Ability to access, create, and save documents in Microsoft Office programs. At a minimum, students must be familiar with Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to browse the Web.
  • All Distance Education students must have installed the Application on their laptops, phones, and personal devices to enroll in classes online.
  • Internet/E-mail:
    • An Internet service provider (ISP)
    • An active and current email address.

Online Participation

Student participation in the weekly Discussion Boards is required and an integral part of the student’s learning experience and grade. 

Studying takes place one to one or in small groups. Synchronized group studies can be scheduled online and on campus. 

The educational system, library and the virtual learning platform, provides each educator with the autonomy to integrate various teaching instruments and tools for personalized learning environments and remediation for group study.

The Hybrid program at Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School provides a flexible, engaging, and personalized approach to education, leveraging the advantages of both online and in-person instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners

Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School (FMAIS) is a school licensed by the Florida Commission on Independent Education with license #3765. FMAIS is also recognized by the Boards of the different programs offered at the School including the Laser Hair Removal certification which is recognized by the Florida Electrolysis Council.

FMAIS graduates can apply for the Florida license in their profession with the School’s Diploma in Esthetics (Skin Care) and also graduates from de Associate Degree program of Pharmacy Management to obtain a pharmacy technician license in Florida.

About the Associate Degree Programs

Massage Therapy Program, MST.

This Program (90.5 Credit Hours/1300 Clock Hours) provides the student with the knowledge and skills required to qualify for employment as an entry level massage therapist. Provide the student with knowledge of the structure and function of the human body, understanding of the use and facts for the most current allied modalities. 

Provide the student with the knowledge and techniques to help in specific problems such as neck, back, sciatic pain, relaxation, stress reduction and muscle spasms. Provide the student the opportunity to observe, assist, learn and perform massage services with emphasis on the transition from student to professional. Prepare students for the State of Florida State Board/National Certification Examination for licensure as a Licensed Massage Therapist.

Medical Assisting Program, MED.

This program(91 Credit Hours/1340 Clock Hours)is designed to prepare students to work as Medical Assistants. The student will be able to work at a Doctor’s Office, Clinic or Hospital. The student will be able to assist the Doctor in office medical procedures, schedule patient appointment and bill patients. 

Medical Assistants are multi-skilled professionals who assist a doctor and students will learn to perform duties under the direction of a doctor in all area of the private office medical practice. Students learn clinical skills, ranging from vital signs, passing medication, perform phlebotomy and EKG. The student will learn how to function on an administrator capacity in the doctor’s office. The student will learn office skills like billing, basic accounting, filing, computer and Insurance forms.

Pharmacy Management, PHT.

This program(101 Credit Hours/1320 Clock Hours)will prepare its graduate to work in a pharmacy setting, in a hospital, clinical or retail pharmacy. This program teaches students the following: planning, management, finance, technical and production skills labor issues, community issue and health, safety, environmental issues, medical terminology, medicinal drugs, pharmaceutical compounding, sterile techniques, maintenance of inventory, IV preparation, laws and rules that govern the 

Pharmacy Technician Career, data processing, delivering medication, printing labels, prepackaging unit dose, pricing prescription drugs and checking supplies.
